Research Interests: VLSI design automation and CAD with a focus on improving the power consumption and energy efficiency of digital systems. Research covers new circuit architectures for low power, including emerging nanoscale hardware approaches at the device, circuit and micro-architecture levels, and post-CMOS device technologies; logic synthesis and optimization, system level dynamic power and thermal management of multicore processors, energy optimization of battery powered computing systems and wireless sensor networks, models and methods for the analysis and optimization of power and performance in the presence of process variations

Background: Lisa brings 20 years of experience in public relations consulting to ASU's Center for Embedded Systems, which she joined in January 2011. Working for small-to mid-sized PR agencies, Lisa managed clients – primarily business-to-business technology companies in the semiconductor equipment and embedded systems segments – leading communications programs including marketing research and strategy, media relations, crisis communications, business integration plans, and writing / editing everything from organization mission and positioning statements to executive speaking points and speeches, Website text, annual reports, employee communications, market segment white papers, branding campaigns, and press materials.

Job Description: At the Center for Embedded Systems, she organizes administrative, communications, and financial aspects of the Center, with an emphasis on managing communications with industry members and running programs such as internships and annual events.

Nancy Beasley

Background:  Nancy's engineering and organizational background, stemming from both academia and industry, bring a strong technical expertise to her role as project manager for the Center for Embedded Systems' SIUC site. She also oversees the department's computing resources; assisting students and faculty on computer hardware and software tools; and developing database applications for budget tracking and project monitoring. Prior to joining SIUC in 2006, Nancy was an electrical engineer at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, managing both software development life cycle projects and assisting in development of microcontroller boards. Her early love of technical problem solving developed in roles as an embedded systems programmer for a leading board manufacturer and as an electronics technician for the United States Navy.

Job Description: Nancy manages IT and finanical duties at the SIU site, including ordering hardware/software components for different projects, tracking project blanaces and invoicing industry members, serving as liaison to SIU accountants, and organizing the annual IAB meeting hosted by SIU.
